Back in the arms of Tracy

It's no secret that I do enjoy a good ol' workout session with Tracy Anderson, but she was not supposed to be on the summer agenda.  Unfortunately, current life circumstances have changed my plans (yet again).

This summer was suppose to be about circuit training, heavy lifting, intense cardio and looking like a super hero by August.  But life always throws you those nasty curveballs.  I just obtained an internship with potential to be hired full-time, on top of another internship I was already doing.  This means--damn it!--getting up when the sun rises to workout.

As I have previously mentioned, working out in the morning has always been a battle for me.  On top of being the quintessential night owl, the few times I attempted to try an AM workout just didn't go well...at all.  I have come to learn that working out in the morning makes me nauseous and I perform in such a lackluster manner.  I would normally cure this dilemma with a PM workout, but when you finish one job at 5pm and resume another right after, evening exercise no longer becomes an option.

My body might not be able to handle a morning workout, but since I have to put myself through such torture (the alternative is no exercise at all), the Tracy Anderson Method might be the trick.  I'm not implying that Tracy's approach to exercise is a walk in the park, but I find that I can phone-it-in a bit and still get a good workout.  While my body is still waking up, I can always catch a few extra ZZZ's doing mat work. ;-). I'd love to add barre to this rotation, but solid form is the difference between an intense workout and a giant bore.

Whatever time I can spare on the weekends or on a week night, I might throw in some circuit training and heavy lifting for strength maintenance.  Cardio is still up in the air at this point.    Psst, don't tell Tracy about that.

I guess I will have to put off my crime fighting career plans and squeezing my ass into a leather jumpsuit for another time.  Enjoy the weekend!

I've never tried a T Anderson workout. I would not fare well if I had to do early-morning workouts. Like you, I feel nauseous in the morning. I wish you well. Good luck with the internship/job!
